Arriving Summer 2026
Marymia has always been about more than clothes. It is about a feeling — the warmth of Lagos on your skin, the confidence of wearing something made with care, the quiet pride of heritage worn beautifully. With Àwẹ̀, our debut fragrance, we are capturing that feeling in a bottle.
The Name
"Àwẹ̀" is a Yoruba word that roughly translates to "wonder" or "admiration" — that moment when you encounter something so beautiful it stops you in your tracks. It is the feeling we want every Marymia customer to experience, and it is the feeling this scent is designed to evoke.
The Composition
We worked with a Lagos-born, London-trained perfumer to create a scent that bridges both cities — just like our clothes.
Top notes: Bergamot, pink pepper, and a burst of tropical mango that fades within minutes, leaving only a warm memory.
Heart notes: Ylang-ylang from Madagascar, jasmine sambac, and a touch of saffron — rich, floral, and slightly spicy.
Base notes: Nigerian oud, sandalwood, and a proprietary accord we call "Lagos Rain" — a blend of vetiver, wet earth, and ozone that captures the smell of rain on hot concrete during Lagos wet season.
The Bottle
Hand-blown glass by a Lagos artisan, finished with an Adire-patterned cap in indigo-dyed leather. Each bottle is slightly unique — a deliberate choice that mirrors the one-of-a-kind nature of our garments.
Small Batch, As Always
Our first production run will be limited to 200 bottles. Each is hand-poured, hand-numbered, and shipped in a recycled kraft box with an Adire cloth wrapping.
Àwẹ̀ will be available exclusively through marymia.co.uk from Summer 2026. Join our newsletter to be the first to know when it drops.
